The new ANSI/BHMA A156.10 Standard, which was published by BHMA on August 11, 2017 and will be effective November 11, 2017, will impact automatic doors equipped with presence sensors. This Standard is industry-wide and STANLEY has been involved in defining these Standards, will be in full compliance with this program, and is even exceeding it. On November 11th, 2017 all new STANLEY door orders shipping out of our factories will have Sensor Monitoring.

Please watch our FAQ video so you can better understand what the implications are for you, your facilities and your customers:

What is Sensor Monitoring? Sensor Monitoring minimizes the chance that door owners unknowingly have a non-functional presence sensor on their slide, swing or folding automatic doors. This is made possible by enabling presence sensors and the automatic door control system to directly communicate with one another as a way for the automatic door control system to check on the status of the presence sensor. If the presence sensor is not operational, the automatic door control system will determine this and cease to operate to ensure safety for pedestrians.
