Product FAQs
We've been experts in automatic doors for over 80 years. Have questions? We've got the answers.
Doors rated to meet Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade County standards can be either impact or non-impact rated. Both types are wind pressure rated, while the impact door is required to pass an additional battery of tests for resistance to impacts from “missiles” or large objects that may be flying through the air at high speed. If your project is within a mile of the coast, or is in a high speed wind zone, you may need the impact version of our Dura-Storm.
No, adding steel is a method for supporting added wind pressure and/or impact resistance. Steel is quite heavy so building impact rated doors without it is preferred.
No. Because all swinging and sliding doors are tested closed and locked, an automatic door operator has no effect on the performance of the door.
